Eggs can be included in your diet for breakfast, lunch or dinner, they are such a versatile food. Not only are they versatile they are packed with vitamins and minerals, essential for our health, they are one of the healthiest foods that you can eat. Protein which is found in high quantity in eggs, are nutrients that are essential to the building, maintenance and repair of your body tissues such as your skin, internal organs and muscles. This is why we label them "the perfect workout partner" for they are a key part of any athlete’s diet to speed up the process of repairing damaged muscles for enhanced performance.

There is no doubt that eggs are one of original super-foods due to their many health benefits. However, over the years have unfairly had a bad wrap by the media and many people have steered clear of eating them as often as they should have been.

For a long time eggs have been considered more of a health risk than a healthy food. This is due to the fact that it was believed that eggs were high in cholesterol, and if you had high cholesterol levels you were advised to avoid them. It has now been proven that the cholesterol found in food has much less of an effect on our blood cholesterol than the amount of saturated fat we eat.

The latest Heart Foundation guidelines put no limit on how many eggs average, healthy people can eat. Click Here to read information from the Heart Foundation.

Another great article we published a while back explaining the true rule of cholesterol I highly suggest to check out. Click Here to read this article.

Not only do eggs are a source of high quality protein, they also contain 11 vitamins and minerals, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. The egg white contains most of the protein, while the yolk consists of healthy fats, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. To help explain this better I put together one of our simple info-graphics to paint the full picture for you.
